Langley buys RWE Piller

Claudius Peters Technologies GmbH, a subsidiary of Langley Holdings plc (Langley) domiciled in Retford, UK, has signed an agreement with RWE Solutions AG for the acquisition of the RWE Piller Group (Piller) headquartered in Osterode. The acquisition takes place with economic effect as of 1st of January 2005. The sale of Piller is part of RWE Solutions' strategy to focus on energy related services. With over 120 million Euro annual revenues and around 750 employees worldwide – over 500 in Germany – Piller (http://www.piller.com/) is a leading internationally recognised manufacturer in the field of high capacity uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and other mission-critical power systems. Langley Holdings plc is the diverse, privately owned UK based engineering group (http://www.langleyholdings.com/) established in 1976 by current chairman, Mr Tony Langley. With this acquisition, Langley expects annual revenues to exceed 300 million Euros and now has approaching 2000 employees, mainly in the UK and Germany. Specialists in producing capital equipment, the group also has a network of subsidiaries in the US and South America, France, Italy, Spain, China, the Far East and Australia. Speaking in Frankfurt today Mr Langley commented: "We are delighted to have concluded this deal with RWE. Piller is a quality asset which we regard as a key investment in our long-term group development strategy."
